Microsoft adds AI and Mixed Reality Apps to Dynamics 365
“Many people, when they talk about CRM, or ERP of old, refer to them as systems of oppression, data capturers, but they didn’t provide any value back to the end user — and what that end user really needs is a system of empowerment, not oppression.”
– Alysa Taylor, Microsoft Corporate VP for Business Applications and Industry.
Recently, Microsoft has announced a series of new AI and Mixed Reality Tools within its Dynamics 365 Apps to empower the Customer Services and Sales teams.
Microsoft has introduced Dynamics 365 AI for Sales, Dynamics 365 AI for Customer Service and Dynamics 365 AI for Market Insights which will be available for public preview later this year. These new applications will deliver insights by unifying data and infusing it with advanced intelligence to guide decisions and empower organisations to take informed actions. Because these insights are easily extendable through the power of Microsoft Power BI, Azure and the Common Data Service, organisations will be able to address even the most complex scenarios specific to their business.
Dynamics 365 AI for Sales aims to help sales teams use technologies, such as call sentiment analysis and warnings about deals being at risk, to get deeper insights into their prospects and prioritise their time on important deals. It delivers insight into the performance of sales teams, offers a detailed analysis of the sales pipeline and deals logged that enables smarter coaching of sales teams and proactive actions to improve sales efficiency and productivity.
Dynamics 365 AI for Customer Service surfaces automated insights, highlighting the issues that salespeople face, helping guide employees to take action and can even utilise chatbots to help lower support costs and enable a more pleasant customer experience, all without needing in-house AI experts and without writing any codes.
Dynamics 365 AI for Market Insights provides teams with in-depth web and social insights, empowering marketing, social media and market research teams to make better decisions. Marketers can improve customer relationships, increasing brand loyalty with actionable insights to engage in relevant conversations and respond faster to trends.
In addition to the AI-powered apps, Microsoft is bringing two Mixed Reality Tools – Remote Assist and Layout, into the Dynamics 365 suites. Remote Assist and Layout are apps for the HoloLens mixed reality headset, meant to help ‘first-line works’ people who work onsite to have an enhanced collaboration and effective problem-solving.
Remote Assist is a hands-free calling application designed to help first-line workers, who are wearing HoloLens out in the field, to collaborate with their colleagues back in the office. Through Remote Assist, colleagues in the office can see through the eyes of the HoloLens and annotate the field of vision with directions. It enables tasks in the field to be solved whilst sitting in the office.
Layout is a spatial-planning application. It enables designers to create a 3D representation of what a space would look like before committing to buy and place items there. It lets users virtually plan out areas, such as manufacturing facilities. They are therefore able to visualise room layouts in life-size scale, which could be a competitive advantage for manufacturing and retail sectors, among other markets. Using Layout, users can resize and rotate 3D models in order to edit layouts easily.
